Lucy Duff-Gordon

Lucy Duff-Gordon (June 13th, 1863 - April 20th, 1935) was a leading British fashion designer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who worked under the professional name of "Lucile".

She and her husband convinced crew of lifeboat 1 to not help people in water following The Sinking of RMS Titanic. They were cleared of wrong doing during the British Inquiry, but they were admonished for not making an effort to rescue survivors from the water.
